Salzburg Research is the non-profit research organization of the province of Salzburg. It conducts applied research in ICT with specific competencies in knowledge management, location based computing, e-health and active assisted living. Founded in 2000, the company has a proven track record as project coordinator of many international and national research and development projects. Coordination of CareInMovement is taken over by the company’s research group for mobile and web-based information systems (MOWI). It focuses on and provides know-how in the areas of human-centred design, geographic information systems, movement pattern analysis and mobility supporting services on smart devices. The research activities of the group include research on pedestrian navigation, spatiotemporal models, mobility safeguarding assistance system, efficient methods for the analysis of sensor data, methods for evaluation and assessment of localization technologies. Currently there is a strong focus on active assisted living systems including market and feasibility studies and cooperative national and international research projects. Within these projects know-how in the areas of user centred design, community building and ethical and legal issues has been build-up.
